LARKSPUR, Marin County — October 31, 2026. Larkspur residents looking for public library services should use the address 10 Rose Lane, not the former library space in City Hall at 400 Magnolia Avenue. The library confirms that it opened in its new location on March 28, 2026, ending more than a century of operations in the old municipal building.
Current regular hours
The library’s official About Us page lists Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Monday and Sunday are closed. Holiday exceptions also apply, so check the calendar before traveling. The website specifically lists a Veterans Day holiday closure on November 11 and several Thanksgiving and winter holiday closures.
What services are available?
Larkspur says its collection includes approximately 15,000 materials. Membership in the MARINet consortium provides access beyond the shelves in Larkspur: participating Marin libraries, educational institutions, electronic books, audiobooks and selected digital databases are part of the network.
Residents with an existing library card do not automatically need a new one because the building moved. The city’s relocation notice advised that cards from participating Marin libraries could continue to be used. Anyone with a lost card or questions about digital resources should contact library staff for current options.
Where to ask about holds and research
For circulation and reserved materials, call 415-927-5005 or consult the library’s contact information. Reference staff can assist with research and available online databases. Library hours and holiday exceptions are published on the same city page.
The relocation also matters to people visiting downtown for a City Hall meeting: the library’s current entrance and regular lending services are no longer at the historic City Hall location.
